Indian-Inspired Superfood Oatmeal

I’m a big fan of oatmeal – anything porridge-like, grits-like – I’m a fan. I don’t know why I find it so comforting, but I love the feeling of something warm, creamy, and slightly sweet. I also grew up eating a lot of Quaker oatmeal and grits before school, so that’s also probably why I have a positive affinity towards. So, of course, being who I am, aka, not ever sticking to the norm – I created a new spin on Oatmeal. Good enough it’s fit for a superhero.

Sometimes even superwoman needs a boost in her day, so let’s start that day with this Superfood Oatmeal – packed with Jaggery, Turmeric (immune boosting), Black Pepper (to activate the circumen), Oats (proteins & nutrients) & Berries (for antioxidants). It’s so delicious, nourishing, healthy and the butter adds the finishing glossy and decadent touch.

If you’ve never had turmeric in a breakfast item or in oatmeal or in anything at all, then this is your time. Indians have been consuming and using turmeric in all facets of of live for centuries. It is considered Ayurvedic (it has natural healing properties) and spiritually and religiously significant. You see, turmeric is used as a vermillion within Hinduism, which I am a practicing Hindu, and it is used to purify and as a vermillion/kumkum on our deities and much more! So you see, this this may be a “trend” in the Western world, but this is part of our daily lives in the Eastern world. So I hope it becomes part of yours!

Not let me end with: drop those pancakes, cause you need this pick-me-up on a Monday! We can all use a pick-me-up to feel like the superwomen we are!
